we've managed (so far) to keep the rabs out of the veggies but they have eaten pretty much everything else in the garden (ferns, all my geraniums & new bamboo shoots). Slugs have had all the runner beans we put in the front garden I'm going to replace them with peas which seem to be less tasty to them. The courgettes I sewed direct haven't come up (yet?) so I'm going to start some in pots, radish & salad have come up beautifully. Didn't get around to tomatoes so need to buy some plants. Front is full of early strawberries, fx nothing eats them before the ripen!

having gardened in solid clay, i have got into the habit of starting everything off in a module, but now i plant on much sooner - at the pricking out stage - into the ground. helps me space things out better. are you going to have a separate allotment blog?? i am a bit dejected about pumpkins/butternut squash failures to germinate. going to buy another seed packet and sow all :(

My caulies and stuff will have to go straight into the ground and hope they grow I think; the allotment came too late for sowing them inside, but we'll see.

I had no idea you had so much on this blog. Off to add it to my blogroll.
