		<description>i have t-bird, and am hoping. that area doesn't seem to have been v good for plums, so if they all die, will put espalier apples there instead.</description>

could you try cutting the plum back to an inch or two below the dead area and see if it helps?  Just in case it's a disease tracking down?</description>
