i guess northern habits die hard! they could easily be frosted still, and we gardened then on solid clay - really slow to warm up, and plagues of slugs, so big and beautiful when they went in was best!
most of the salads i do as come again crops.
maybe next year i will be bolder at putting them out!
oh, and also, the weeding is a bit behind - easier to pot on!!

very impressed at all your potting on. I sow and chuck out. So chucked out so far have been courgettes, pumpkins, runners, french beans, sweetcorn, have sown some stuff outside now too carrots, borage, parsley, radishes, all bordered by calendula. Have artichokes looking for a bed home somewhere, dunno where though, must sow some more beans too. Have also done some salad stuff in pots near the back door, as I'm more likely to use it before it bolts that way! Choose leaves you can just pick as you go along, rather than whole heads. have spare courgettes and squashes still in pots too. Also have a tray of seedlings that I have no idea what they are!! oops!
